新年 & Lesson 5

大家好！

美国新年快乐！It is the first official day of the year 2013, and the beginning of the American New Year :) This also marks the last day of Winter Break. This is very bittersweet as I am excited to start Winter Term and go back to school, however I am also sad that my vacation time is over. I hope everyone has had wonderful holidays and time to rest. Tomorrow will be my first class of Chinese 102 and I am pretty excited! Now onto Lesson 5 Supplementary Practice, I only have about 3 left to finish today and then I will be previewing for Chinese 102 using the next few lessons of my Chinese Link Level 1 book and my Chinese software I received for Christmas :)

     你们好！我来介绍一下我的室友。我有两个室友，一个叫美美，一个叫文英，他们都是我的好朋友。美美是英国人，文英是法国人，我是美国人。

     我们都学英国文学，也学中文，我们都会说英文和一点点中文。我们有很多中国朋友，他们都是留学生，我们常根他们说中文，他们都很好，常常帮助我们练习中文

     你们呢？你们有室友吗？有几个？

      Nǐmen hǎo! Wǒ lái jièshào yīxià wǒde shìyou. Wǒ yǒu liǎnggè shìyou, yīgè jiào Měiměi, yīgè jiào Wényīng, tāmen dōu shì wǒde hǎo péngyǒu. Měiměi shì Yīngguórén, Wényīng shì Fàguórén, wǒ shì Měiguórén.

英语 (English)

       Hello! Let me introduce my roommates. I have two roommates, one called Měiměi, one called Wényīng, they are my good friends. Měiměi is British, Wényīng is French, I am American. 

           We all study English Literature, we also study Chinese. We all can speak English and a little Chinese. We have a lot of Chinese friends, they all are international students, we often speak Chinese with them, they all are very good, and often help us practice Chinese. 

          What about you? Do you have a roommate? How many do you have?

春晓/ Chūn Xiǎo/Spring Morning

春眠不觉晓，           Chūn mián bù jué xiǎo,        Morning comes unannounced to my spring      slumber,                                         

  

处处闻啼鸟。           Chù chù wén tí niǎo.             I hear beards calling all around.      

夜来风雨声，           Yè lái fēng yǔ shēng,       In the night came sounds of wind and showers,

花落知多少。           Huā luò zhī duō shǎo.     Many of the flowers must have fallen.
